Homage to the Great
Martyr Amrita Devi Bishnoi
Eco
Sensitivity Club, FMS, PAHER has taken an initiative towards creating consciousness
for environment. Every year in September, a homage is paid to the great martyr
Amrita Devi Bishnoi by the members of the Club.
In this regard, a literature has been
developed and distributed in public to generate awareness towards diversified
tree plantation. Moreover, in remembrance of the devoted Martyr Amrita Devi
Bishnoi, along with her 3 daughters (Asu,
Ratni and Bhagu)
and 363 Bishnois who sacrificed their lives to save trees being
felled by Maharaj of Marwar in 1730 A.D. A street play was organized in
September, 2014 to depict the story of Amrita Devi Bishnoi by the Eco
Sensitivity Club students.
Following the tradition, the
students will again be organizing an event in September, 2015 to pay a tribute to
the martyrs and sensitize the world about the importance of flora around us.
